SNORKELING
Experience the magic of snorkeling in the Maldives, where the waters are renowned for their clarity. With the guidance of skilled guides and accompanied by a life vest, mask, snorkel, and fins, dive into this underwater paradise and witness the enchanting marine life that inhabits the coral reefs. Snorkeling is a popular recreational activity that involves swimming on the surface of the water while wearing a snorkel, a mask, and fins. It allows you to explore the underwater world and observe marine life without the need for extensive training or diving equipment. By using a snorkel, you can breath through a tube that extends above the water while your face is submerged, allowing you to stay underwater for longer period of time. With a mask, you can see clearly underwater, and fins help you move through the water more efficiently. Snorkeling is a fantastic way to appreciate the beauty of coral reefs, fish, and other marine creatures in their natural habitat. It can be enjoyed in various locations, including oceans, seas, lakes, and even swimming pools with clear water.

Preparation
You will be provided with snorkeling equipment and a life jacket. Afet that our guides will explain the rout of the trip to you. Then, you will be taken to the speed boat where you will receive a safety orientation for the trip.
Safety Briefing
When you go snorkeling, you will need to be able to swim or wear a life jacket. Which will keep you afloat on the water. If you have never snorkel before, we recommend having a short snorkel lesson with our team at Active Watersports Maafushi.
1. Put your mask on your face by placing the rubber bands around your head. The mask should be fit well on your face to prevent water from leaking in. From then on, you will need to breathe through your mouth, not your nose, to avoid fogging the mask.
2. Wear your snorkel, which should be attached to your mask's straps. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth completely and keep your mouth closed while in the water to prevent water from entering.
3. Put on the fins.
Now that you have all three items ready, you can start your snorkeling adventure.
Remember to always snorkel with a buddy.
If water gets inside your snorkel from the top part, simply blow it out by exhaling with force. This will clear the snorkel of water.
There are hand signals for communication during snorkeling, and our guides will explain these signals before you begin.
Whenever possible, snorkel against the current, as it will make it easier to return to the boat or your starting point.
We wish you a fantastic snorkeling experience.
